The Rwanda Energy Group Limited was incorporated to expand, maintain and operate the energy infrastructure in the Country through its two subsidiaries the Energy Utility Corporation Limited (EUCL) and the Energy Development Corporation Limited (EDCL). The objective of creating these subsidiaries amongst others was to ensure focused attention to enhancing efficiency in utility operations on one hand and ensure more timely and cost efficient implementation of development projects on the other. Moreover the REG holding structure provides the overall coordination and ensures effective development of energy and investment plans.
Description, duties, responsibilities
Contribute the effective audit operations for subsidiary companies ensuring that Internal Audit and investigation assignments are being conducted in a timely and effective manner to maximize contribution to the Companies’ business objectives.
Effective Implementation of the audit program ensuring that assignments are being conducted by the staff with the right competence within the allocated financial and time budgets
Ensure compliance with the determined risk based audit strategy and effective fulfillment of the commitments in the annual work plan for the unit;
Continually assess the adequacy the existing policies, procedures and workflow processes and report any observed lapses and propose corrective measures
Prepare the relevant reports for each audit / investigative assignment for the review of the Manager Internal Audit;
Execute Audit programs and report in a timely fashion on key findings for Management action;
Plan and conduct each assignment to assess controls, operational and technical efficiencies and compliance with relevant, laws, regulations policies and procedures and report on the extent to which the three “ E”s (efficiency, effectiveness and economy) are optimized;
Ensure that staff assigned to your team are effectively managed to deliver on the objectives of the assignments with a high standard of professionalism
