The Energy Sector in Rwanda is undergoing a process of reform and a comprehensive program of renewal and expansion of electricity infrastructure is underway to ensure growth of the network to meet current and future supply requirements with a high level of reliability. The Energy Utility Corporation Limited (EUCL) is a Subsidiary of the Rwanda Energy Group (REG) one of the Successor entities from the former EWSA. EUCL took over EWSA utility operations including the associated generation plants, transmission and distribution network and all adjoining facilities thereto.
Description, duties, responsibilities
Planning and scheduling maintenance work
Reviewing weekly schedule compliance for specified disciplines;
Monitoring and following up planned maintenance operations (curative, predictive and preventative measures);
Participating in the patrols & inspections for network facilities and analyze the inspection report;
Preparing the annual plan for the preventative maintenance;
Developing and updating database of network assets;
Keeping technical documentation up-to-date; etc
Requirements and Skills
Strong written and oral communication skills; teamwork spirit and ability to manage multiple projects/activities with varying scopes and timelines;
Strong customer service orientation; demonstrated level of professionalism and positive attitude; ability to exercise flexibility to work effectively in a changing environment; anticipate and resolve problems at hand;
Advanced computer and technological skills; demonstrated knowledge of construction, maintenance and operation of transmission network, HV/MV substations, distribution network, MV switchgears and MV/LV transformers, etc.
Strong planning and scheduling skills. Planning&/scheduling training courses would be an asset;
Strong knowledge of maintenance equipment and facilities of electricity transmission and distribution system;
Ability to read and interpret equipment specifications, engineering drawings, Isometric (ISO), charts, tables, and study sample parts;
Sound and correct understanding of equipment reliability concepts;
Ability to manage conflicting priorities and deliver on timelines;
Proficiency with computer applications such as the Microsoft Office suite;
Knowledge of Arc GIS, ArchiCAD, CMMS or any other power system software is an asset;
Fluency in both spoken and written English and French
Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical, Mechanical Engineering or equivalent from a recognized university.
Demonstrated two (02) years of related experience in power system operation and maintenance.
